What You Enjoy About Local News:

I’ve been very fortunate to cover Tennessee sports from coast-to-coast since 1990. My assignments have take me to nearly twenty college bowl games, including UT’s 1998 national title win in Tempe, Ariz. Some of my other great memories include covering the Miracle at South Bend win against Notre Dame in 1991, Peyton Manning's first game as a Tennessee Volunteer at UCLA in 1994, the inaugural Brickyard 400 in Indianapolis, the Titans win in the Music City Miracle playoff game against Buffalo, and their Super Bowl XXXIV showdown against the St. Louis Rams. I’ve covered three Lady Vols national titles in college basketball, UT’s trip to the College World Series in Omaha, the Daytona 500, and I’ve had the chance to interview Dale Earnhardt, George Steinbrenner and Don King. What do I enjoy about covering sports in Tennessee? What’s not to like?

Media Awards and Honors:
  • Five-time AP Best Sportscast in Tennessee.
  • Two Mid-South Region Emmys.
  • East Tennessee SPJ Award of Excellence.
